Todd Parr's books are great reads from birth to eight. His collection of books teach yound children the fundamental basics of family and peer interaction. His simple prose and his colorful images are woven together like a favorite blanket.
My family favorite is Parr's "It's Okay To Be Different" The book teaches diversity in a matter of fact yet persuasive way. We learn that it is okay to have wheels, wear glasses, need help, be adopted, have two different dads and more. My wife has purchased this book for many teachers and friends.
